If I create a new custom list, I can’t attach a document content type.

And if I create a new document library, even if I attach the new content type, the fields (when viewed with “edit document properties”) do not allow rich text.

Is there something I’m not getting?

The Sharepoint manager option looks perfect… however I’m just an end user and don’t have access to the server.
