• OnTerra Bing Maps WMS Service – Beta

  This is a beta service is provided by the experts at OnTerra Systems, for evaluation and testing only. It allows you to access Bing Maps base data such as ortho imagery, road data and hybrid layers (road + ortho) in Open Geospatial Consortium (OCG) – Web Mapping Service (WMS) format. This service works in conjunction with any WMS capable application. Currently this beta service supports WMS 1.3.0 and 1.1.1 standards, and primarily using web Mercator projection

Amazon startet mit privaten Clouds. Diese sind nicht direkt im Internet erreichbar, sondern nur über VPN Verbindungen. Viele Branchenexperten rechnen damit, dass sich langfristig diese privaten Clouds sich als Alternativen zu In-House Rechenzentren etablieren können. Die Kosten der Betreibung einer Private Clouds sind im Verhältnis zu On-Site Installationen wesentlich kostengünstiger.

Die Vererbung von Styles in WPF & Silverlight kann sehr flexibel genutzt werden. So besteht die Möglichkeit der Kombination von expliziten mit impliziten Styles. Tönt komlizierter als es ist –> siehe Beispiel.

• Silverlight-City | Tools, Toolanbieter für Silverlight und .NET

  Zu jeder ernstzunehmenden Entwicklungsumgebung und zu jedem größeren Framework entwickelt sich früher oder später ein Biotop von Drittanbietern. In der Regel kann der Hersteller nicht jeden Wunsch den ein Entwickler haben könnte vorhersehen – oder ihn gar implementieren. Ein Hersteller wie Microsoft realisiert in einem Framework wie Silverlight die Sachen, auf die es – aus Herstellersicht – ankommt und überlässt den Rest der Zukunft, bzw. den Drittanbietern. Nun ist es (eigentlich) ein recht mühsames Geschäft, sich auf dem Laufenden zu halten, was Fremdprodukte und –Bibliotheken angeht. Aber die Teilnehmer der Silverlight Firmenschulung letzte Woche baten mich um eine Liste unabhängiger Anbieter von Tools zu und über Silverlight. Daher habe ich hier eine (unkommentierte) Liste häufig genannter Anbieter zusammengetragen.
