PIM Backup application (v2.8)licenceThe PIM backup application is a tool that allows to backup/restore personal information stored on windows mobile based pocket devices. Concerning the personal information, I refer to contacts, appointments, tasks, messages, calls,…
The backup is totally independent of the version of Windows Mobile running on the device and independent of the device itself. The backup is also independent of the language used on the device. You can easily backup on a Chinese device and restore in a German one.There are two kinds of backups. The binary based backup has been implemented in order to have a backup/restore process which is fast and more reliable, the disadvantage being that the backup contents cannot be easily modified or viewed.
The text based backup has been implemented in order to see/edit the contents on a pc for instance.

Stick is a Windows application (Windows XP/Vista only) which provides utilities such as folder explorers, web browsers and notepads in tabs that attach to the sides of your screen (called ScreenTabs). ScreenTabs are highly customizable tab-shaped windows that lets you access commonly used utilities quickly and easily. I use Stick daily and it has changed the way I work. Open IT Online allows you to open your documents and images online without the need of any software to be installed. It handles:
- Documents (*.doc, *.rtf, *.odt, *.sxw)
- Spreadsheets (*.xls, *.csv, *.ods, *.sxc)
- Presentations (*.ppt, *.pps, *.odp, *.sxi)
- Images (*.jpg, *.gif, *.png)When Firefox encounters one of the file types supported by Open IT Online, it shows the „Open With“ dialog: if you have installed Open IT Online, you will get, among the others, an option to open the file online. Choosing this option, you will also have the possibility to choose which online service you want to use to open the file.
Open IT Online shows you also the file size of the document you could see online: this information helps you determining if you want to open the file online or not.

The new product PDFlib TET IFilter 3.0 has been released today. TET PDF IFilter is based on the patented TET technolgy. It extracts text and metadata from PDF documents and makes it available to search and retrieval software on Windows.
TET PDF IFilter allows PDF documents to be searched on the local desktop, a corporate server, or the Web. TET PDF IFilter is based on the patented PDFlib Text Extraction Toolkit (TET), which is a developer product for reliably extracting text from PDF documents.
TET PDF IFilter is a robust implementation of Microsoft’s IFilter indexing interface. It works with all search and retrieval products which support the IFilter interface, e.g. SharePoint and SQL Server. Such products use format-specific filter programs – called IFilters – for particular file formats, e.g. HTML. TET PDF IFilter is such a program, aimed at PDF documents. The user interface for searching the documents may be the Windows Explorer, a Web or database frontend, a query script, or a custom application. As an alternative to interactive searches, queries can also be submitted programmatically without any user interface.
